|Today’s tip: Make a Stress List|
There’s a reason you’re not getting certain tasks done, and you may not even realize it. The good news is that there’s an easy fix for that…
Make a “stress list.” This is an abbreviated version of the Stress Journal I’ve spoken of in the past. Take that specific project, task or appointment that is haunting you on your weekly plan and do the following:
- Choose a dedicated notes page in your planner
- Write the project as its heading
- Create a bulleted list of reasons you are stressed about it
- Below each bullet, write a potential fix
- Note: never forget that asking a co-worker/friend/boss for help is often the reasonable fix
Getting stressful issues down onto paper will change your perspective. When problems lie unresolved they can add-up to a much larger issue in your head, so by writing a list you are able to face the specific stress points one by one. A stress list can become a step-by-step blueprint for dismantling your anxiety and getting a project done.
This week, make a habit of facing what stresses you and check off that task that’s holding you back.
