Work-life balance is the ultimate prize in finding a peaceful existence. At times, it may seem evasive — you might even think it’s unattainable as work consumes a majority of our daily lives. But, there are ways to find balance for yourself today.
The blog Zen Habits recently addressed the elusiveness of balance and offered seven practical tips for bringing life back into focus.
My personal favorite was #1. Set a time to shut off work
Take ownership of your life — find variety and ways to burn off stress and find enjoyment in life! Start by setting a time each day when you shut off work. Whether that’s 5 p.m. or 5:30 or 6 or 7 or 9 p.m.
Balance, among many things, is a result of planning an equal amount of activities from the various aspects of your life. Work at times may become your predominant and singular focus, but true success comes from living a well-rounded life.
