|Jump Start Monday | Get your week off to a great start with the Day-Timer blog. Each Monday we’re going to feature a new tip to help you gain a more productive week at work and at home.|
|Today’s tip: Leverage the 80/20 rule|
Remember, that 20% of the tasks on your to-do list account for 80% of your daily results. It’s known as The Pareto principle and it works. Focus on your list with a sharpened pencil and weed out the 80% of the low-value tasks that occupy your time and energy.
Try This: Determine which tasks contribute to the highest percentage of valuable productivity for an hour’s worth of work, and concentrate primarily on those. The rest you can eliminate, delegate or simplify.
Here’s Why: It’s impossible to do everything you want to do today. When push comes to shove, you must do what’s important and avoid the rest.
