Ever so often, a major event occurs that simultaneously alters the daily processes and productivity of countless individuals. This was just the case as nearly 15 million Americans had their TV sets tuned to the United States soccer team’s loss to Ghana over the weekend, the second most viewers to televised US soccer ever (18 million watched the US women’s World Cup final versus China in 1999).
If it proves anything, it’s that people were stopping what they were ordinarily doing and watching soccer.
