Ways to Build Time for Giving Back into Your Busy Schedule

holiday giving

Sometimes it can be hard to find the time to give back. You’ve got your career, your family, appointments, meetings, clubs and associations. How can you possibly fit in time for giving back?

There’s an easy solution. Getting organized is the best way to better manage your schedule and find out where you might have a little time to spare. This is the season for giving, so don’t let it pass you by.

Use our tips below to help you get organized and find time to give back this holiday season:

Multi-task

  • You don’t have to set aside separate time to give back this season. Multi-task. Start a campaign in your office to get toys for tots or canned food for local food banks. Even just raising money for a local charity is a great way to give of yourself this season.

Use a day planner

  • How is a day planner going to help you get organized? A new day planner will allow you to better manage your obligations. Only volunteer for events when it’s completely necessary. By watching your schedule more closely with a daily planner, you can find more time for what’s important to you.

Ask for help

  • Maybe it’s not really necessary for you to handle it all on your own. Get your family to help out with baking, cleaning or other activities that don’t need your attention. This will allow you to give your time to more important things.

Make it a family affair

  • If you’re worried about not spending enough time with your family this holiday season, invite them to join you. Serve food at a local shelter or volunteer your time at an animal shelter. This will allow you to spend time with your family and give back to the community. Not to mention, you’ll make great memories.

Giving back is a great way for you to make the most of the holiday season. Show you’re thankful for all you’ve been blessed with this year by making time in your busy schedule to give back.
