Breast cancer strikes women (and men) in all walks of life. It may touch your mother, your sister, your friend. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This month-long campaign increases awareness of breast cancer issues and reinforces the importance of early intervention and treatment.
Federal funding for programs such as Breast Cancer research has been declining in recent years, so private support has never been more important. In 2004, Day-Timer joined forces with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) as a corporate partner; since that time, our annual contribution has continued to grow. In March of 2009, we reached a significant milestone – our contribution to BCRF surpassed the $500,000 mark! Day-Timer contributes between 3-7% of the proceeds from the sale of Pink Ribbon products to BCRF. BCRF in turn dedicates approximately 90% of those dollars to research and awareness programs. For their efforts, BCRF was awarded a 4-star rating (its highest rating) from Charity Navigator, an independent charity evaluator.
